Bumpdate: March 23rd in photos
3am: Wake up to go to the bathroom
4:30am: Wake up to Corey's alram. He's training for a marathon and wanted to get a run in before our 7:20am appointment.
4:45am: Corey gets up. Gets ready and heads to the gym.
5am: Get up to go to the bathroom again...by this time I figure there is no way I'm going back to sleep...We get to see our baby TODAY!! ...Start the coffee!
6:45am: We leave the house. I have a full bladder:(
7:40am: We are called back to the ultrasound room. Here's what we saw next...
It was a great appoinment! The baby was moving all around...it was a great show!
Later that day...breakfast date with my hubs, eye appointment for Corey, nap, lunch, work and then...
It was such a fun day! I will never forget it...the excitement, the thrill, the special time with Corey, my sisters screaming...I can't wait to add a little girl to our family.

Bumpdate: Philippians 4:4
This morning I read Phil. 4:4
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" A reminder to stop and thank the provider of everything I have.
It is so simple, and yet I know I move through my day without a conscious prayer of thankfulness. Oh, sure I have a thankful heart. I do not credit anything I have to myself...but how often do I vocalize that to God.
So, today, at 3:28pm I stopped to thank God for the movement I was feeling in my belly...and it wasn't gas...I've been feeling this movement for a couple weeks now, and I've known that it is coming from the life inside of me, but had I ever stopped to thank God verbally for the gift of that precious movement?
By 3:31pm the movement settled, and I went back to work.

Chalk Board Files
A couple years ago I found this great chalk board at Oronoco Gold Rush. Gold Rush is a huge flea market that takes over the tiny town of Oronoco, MN. I love Gold Rush and every year I have to buy a little something. The chalk board is made from an old shutter (from a window). It is currently hanging in our kitchen. Corey and I like to write little messages to each other, encouraging scripture and sometimes just funny things. Here is our chalk board as it stands today...

March 23rd...can't wait! |
Bumpdate: 18 weeks
A few weekends ago Corey and I ran into a friend of mine who I have not seen in months. It was great to see her and meet her sweet little girl...who by the way loved flirting with Corey! It was adorable! I told him that having a girl maybe wouldn't be all that scary after all. Anyhow I was convicted after talking for a few minutes...I do not do that well keeping up with the Jordan's South blog. So, I'm starting the "Bumpdate" series.
In the past two weeks the bump has really started to show. At first it just looked like I was eating too many treats and not exercising, but I'm telling you I am exercising! It's been so nice to have the energy again and to be able to go to the gym. My favorite is cycling class. I'm not sure how long I will be able to lean over the bike, but I'm determined to make it work! Even if I have to ride that bike spread eagle so the belly will just drop between my legs...ok, that would not be pretty! The instructors are so motivating and they help me push myself...which I love! Hopefully I can continue into my 3rd trimester.
Here are some baby related lists...
Things that smell:
dictionary.com says...crave- to long for; want greatly; desire eagerly
I didn't really think that I was actually "craving", but this definition has convinced me
This list is pretty short...obviously I've let myself indulge.
More news soon!

Things that smell:
- Sun dried tomato turkey breast: This is my FAVORITE kind of cold cut meat (*insert sad face*). I quit buying it about a month ago because I would gag every time I opened the fridge or freezer for that matter. The scent permeates!
- The deodorizers in public restrooms (especially at ARC): Seriously it's pretty much like death by perfume in there!
- Axe body spray: Corey sprays a little of this so that he's not the "stinky guy" at the gym. I usually appreciate this effort. Now-a-days the scent lingers in our house all morning. Let me be clear...Corey does not stink, BUT the lingering spray does!
- The lotion in my guest bathroom: I've really got to put that away until the baby arrives...wait I do get my normal human sense of smell back, right???
dictionary.com says...crave- to long for; want greatly; desire eagerly
I didn't really think that I was actually "craving", but this definition has convinced me
- Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream: This is always my FAVORITE, but right now I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
- Chewy, fruity candy: Again, this is always a go to when I have an urge for candy, but lately I can't get enough. Currently I am especially fond of grape Laffy Taffy. I ate two of the BIG ones last night at the movie theater.
- Pickles: This is a new development. I like pickles but the only time I ever eat them is at Grandma's house...if I can get to the bowl before my cousins, HA! Last Friday (March 4th) I bought a jar to have all to myself. I forgot about them until two days ago. I've eaten half the jar.
- Fruity gum: Again, I like fruity gum but I don't chew it often because chewing gum gives me a headache and the next day the muscles in my face ache from the workout. However, lately I want gum ALL THE TIME! The most annoying thing about this is that after about 10 minutes I want a new piece for the fresh flavor...YUM!
- Broccoli: I always love broccoli, but these days I LOVE BROCCOLI...could someone make a shirt that says that?!?
- BBQ anything: Yum! Nuff said.
This list is pretty short...obviously I've let myself indulge.
- Arby's: If I had my 12-15 year old metabolism I would eat fast food all the time. Of course that is not going to happen. So I rarely eat fast food. Since becoming pregnant I drool every time I pass a fast food restaurant. Lately I've really been dying for a Bacon, Chicken, Swiss from Arby's...anyone free for lunch?
- Italian anything: Early on in my pregnancy I did have some Italian dishes (lasagna, spaghetti and pizza). These all caused me to have the worst acid reflux I have ever experienced! It was disgusting. I was burping up garlicky tomatoes for at least two days. I now know that I can have Tums...maybe I'll try pizza again soon?!?

Helloooooo 2nd Trimester!
Saturday February 5th marked the end of our 1st trimester...Praise the Lord we surrvived! Among the normal aches, pains, bloating, fatigue, hunger, horrible acid reflux and listlessness there were many blessings.
Blessing #1: Dad in Training
Though I don't have a lot (of belly) to show for my aches and pains of the 1st triemster the other day Corey said to me "Let me see your belly." So I turned sideways to give him the widest view, and I will never forget the grin that appeared on his face. For me that moment will be cemented in my mind. Knowing that he is engaged in what is going on in my body and our little one growing is a huge blessing for me!
Blessing #2: Grandparents
The joy of telling my parents that they were FINALY going to be grandparents was a highlight. Watching my parents share our news with their friends and family was awesome...they are proud.
Blessing #3: Opportunity to date my husband
Now that we are approaching March both Corey and I are realizing that the few days we have left together (just the two of us) are dwindling. Because of this realization we have been taking advantage of every opportunity to go on dates. Today we spent the morning at Dunn Brothers (one of our favorite spots when we were actually dating). We had breakfast, coffee and played a few games of Skip Bo...if you are wondering Corey won best out of three...but it wasn't a true three game series! I'll take him next time! Then we spent part of the afternoon looking at houses with our realtor HandyAndy. After we decided we weren't quite ready to end our date so we headed to Nupa for lunch! We were both quite distracted by the cuties (two toddlers and two babies) having lunch behind us...we'll be there soon:)
There were many other day to day blessings that came with the 1st trimester, but I won't bore you with all the details. Just know that we are soaking up every little moment with delight! I'm even coming to grips with buying new jeans...one size bigger.
We have a BIG day coming up at the end of March. On March 23rd we will be finding out the sex of Baby Jordan...assuming that he/she cooperates...
